An important railway project pending for the last four decades in Uttar Pradesh has finally been approved. 82 km long new railway line will be laid from Sahajanwan to Bansgaon to New Dorighat, which will give better connectivity to Purvanchal and many parts of Bihar. What will be the benefit of this railway line?

The rail journey to major cities like Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Chhapra in Bihar through the new railway line will be possible in more easy and less time. This route will not only bring relief for the passengers, but will also prove to be very beneficial in terms of trade, transport and local employment.

Construction will be done in three stages

  1. First phase: 33 km long line from Sahajanwan to Bansgaon

Each phase will create new employment opportunities at the local level roads, bridges, stations and other facilities, which will provide new employment opportunities to the surrounding people.

Land of 112 villages will be acquired

A total of 403.29 hectares of land is being acquired from 112 villages for the construction of the railway line. So far, about 58 hectares of land has been acquired and the process of giving proper compensation to the farmers is also going on.

A special attraction of the project will be a 1200 meter long rail bridge, which will be built on the Saryu River. Apart from this, 15 underpasses, 11 large bridges, 47 small bridges and 2 railway overbridges will also be built. It will be one of Purvanchal’s most complex and technically advanced railway projects.

Prime Minister Modi’s cabinet was approved

This railway project was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 December 2019. Since then, the process of the scheme has been expedited and construction work is in progress.
