During his visit to Agra district today, Keshav Prasad Maurya ji did a detailed review of the government’s public welfare schemes, development works and law and order with the administrative officials at the Circuit House. During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister took a strict stance on complaints and laxity in the progress of public welfare schemes and directed the officers to fix accountability.
Strong attack on the negligence of Jal Nigam The public representatives present in the review meeting complained about serious irregularities in the implementation of ‘Har Ghar Jal Yojana’ by the Jal Nigam. It was told that the roads and streets demolished for laying the pipeline have not been restored in a quality manner, due to which the general public is facing huge problems in transportation.
Taking immediate cognizance of this, the Deputy Chief Minister gave the following instructions:
Formation of Special Investigation Team: Immediate investigation should be conducted by forming a team of district level officers in 10-10 gram sabhas (total 60 gram sabhas) of all the 06 rural assembly constituencies of Agra.
Technical Audit: During investigation, it should be ensured whether the pipeline has been laid 1 meter below the ground as per the standard or not.
Road Restoration: A report should be prepared after physically checking the quality of the restoration work of roads, streets and ravines.
Action against culprits: Strict legal action should be ensured against the concerned agencies doing non-standard work.
Review of law and order and development works The Deputy Chief Minister gave instructions to maintain the timeline and quality of various development projects being conducted in the district. He clarified that the government’s intention is to provide benefits to the last person with ‘zero tolerance’ and negligence will not be tolerated at any level. Reviewing the law and order situation, he asked the police officers to give priority to crime control and public hearing.
