There is big and relief news for the students waiting to take admission in post graduation courses in Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The university administration has started its official admission process for the session 2026-27 under CUET PG. The online registration portal for PG candidates has been made live from Tuesday evening. Eligible candidates can complete their registration by visiting the official portal of BHU till 11:59 pm on June 4, 2026. After the registration process is over, the cutoff list will be released by the university and the counseling schedule will be announced.

Process started 25 days after result, time taken for NTA verification

It is noteworthy that the results of CUET PG were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 24 itself. After a long wait of about 25 days, BHU has opened the registration window. According to the university administration, this time it took 25 days for the process of receiving the official list of eligible candidates from NTA and complete verification of the data, so that there were no technical glitches during the counselling. Now candidates will have enough time of total 16 days to fill the form.

Admission will be available in 150 courses, many new courses also included this year

There are huge opportunities for students looking for admission in BHU this year. In this academic session, admissions will be taken in a total of 150 different postgraduate courses being conducted in 5 institutes and 13 different faculties of the university.

Following are some of the highlights of this new session:

  • Starting of new courses: From this year, apart from Medical Science, new modern and employment-oriented courses are being started in many other subjects at PG level.

  • Change in number of seats: Compared to previous years, the number of seats in some selected courses has also been revised (changed) based on the demand and number of students.

  • Detailed bulletin issued: Complete list of eligibility, fee structure and seats for all 150 courses has been made available in the official ‘Admission Bulletin’ of BHU.

Chairman of BHU Admission Coordination Cell, Prof. Bhaskar Bhattacharya has advised the candidates to take special care while filling the form. He has suggested the candidates to read the information bulletin issued by the university carefully before submitting the admission registration form. Apply step-by-step as per the instructions given in the bulletin, so that there is no human or technical error in the form. He clarified that the entire admission process will be conducted in a transparent manner only on the basis of merit of marks obtained in CUET PG.
