King Kohli once again showed his class against Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 match played at Dharamshala ground on 26 May. Although he missed playing a big inning in this match, but on the basis of his brilliant innings of 43 runs in 25 balls, he has set two such big records in the history of IPL, which have put another firm seal on his greatness.

In this match, Virat Kohli was looking in very good form and was moving towards a big score, but Gujarat all-rounder Jason Holder clean bowled him and showed him the way to the pavilion. Even though Kohli left the field disappointed, he had completed his 600 runs in this season before getting out.

Crossed 600 for the sixth time: First batsman in IPL history

By crossing the magical figure of 600 runs this season, Virat Kohli has created a new history in this biggest T20 tournament of cricket. He has become the first and only player in the history of IPL to score 600 or more runs in 6 different seasons. Till date in the history of the tournament, no batsman has been able to come even close to this consistency.

Let’s see Virat Kohli’s amazing journey of ‘600 Plus’ so far:

  • 2013: 634 runs

  • 2016: 973 runs (record of most runs in a season)

  • 2023: 639 runs

  • 2024: 741 runs

  • 2025: 657 runs

  • 2026: 600+ runs (season ongoing)

Super-record in four consecutive seasons

The second biggest record in the name of Virat Kohli is scoring more than 600 runs in four consecutive IPL seasons. This trend, which started from the year 2023, continues unabated in the year 2026 also. Coming to this level of scoring every year in a game with uncertainties like T20 cricket proves why Kohli is called a run machine.

Cricket pundits believe that- In the coming times, for the young batsmen, breaking these two records of Virat Kohli will be like conquering Everest.

Captain Rajat Patidar’s devastation, RCB made the biggest score of the playoffs

If we talk about the match, this match in Dharamshala was completely in the name of RCB. After losing the toss and coming to bat first, captain Rajat Patidar created ruckus on the field for Bengaluru team. Gujarat Titans team, which came to chase the huge target of 255 runs, fell apart like a pack of cards in front of RCB’s sharp bowling attack and the entire team was reduced to just 162 runs. RCB won this match by a huge margin of 92 runs and got the direct ticket to the final. Now this team, captained by Rajat Patidar, will play the final match for the glittering trophy on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
