Crackdown raids on Dhauli Pyau and Malgodam Road: 10 hotels sealed, 35 issued notices. Rapid raid on Dhauli Pyau and Malgodam Road, 10 hotels sealed and notice to 35

The administration has started the biggest action so far against illegal construction and hotel-guest houses running without standards in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. A joint team of Development Authority and Police suddenly raided Dhauli Pyau area and Malgodam Road and started searching the horoscopes of hotels. During this exhaustive action, 10 hotels found to be operating against the rules were sealed on the spot, while show cause notices were served to 35 other guest houses after major deficiencies were found. This sudden action has created panic among the hotel operators of the entire area.

Action started from morning on Dhauli Pyau and Malgodam Road The Mathura-Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA) had been receiving complaints for a long time that commercial activities were being carried out on residential maps in busy areas like Dhauli Pyau and Malgodam Road. As soon as the vehicles of the enforcement team reached these areas along with the police force on Saturday morning, there was panic among the hotel operators. During investigation, it was found that many hotels neither had NOC from the fire department nor were they registered under the Sarai Act. The administration immediately vacated these 10 establishments that were flouting the standards and imposed a government lock on them.

35 hotels received final ultimatum, attachment action will be taken Administrative officials have clarified that this sealing action is only the beginning. The 35 hotels to which notices have been issued have been given limited time to complete their documents and safety standards. If satisfactory response or improvement is not received within the stipulated time limit, then the process of demolition and attachment can be adopted along with sealing of these hotels. According to the MVDA Secretary, unplanned development and illegally running lodges on the main roads of the city are now on the radar and this campaign will continue.

Administration’s emphasis on safety of devotees and beautification of the city Thousands of devotees from India and abroad come to Mathura every day. Keeping their safety in mind, the administration is now adopting a very strict stance. Buildings without fire exits, tall hotels built in narrow streets and guest houses without parking are not only disturbing the traffic system but can also cause major accidents in case of any emergency. Local residents have also appreciated this step of the administration, as there was often traffic jam at Dhauli Pyau and Railway Station Road due to illegal commercial activities.
