News India Live, Digital Desk: The wait for the results of the by-elections held on six assembly seats of Bihar is about to end. Counting of votes will start tomorrow i.e. Friday, November 14 at 8 am and by noon it will be clear on whom the public has expressed their trust. But this time the winning candidate and his supporters will not be able to take out a victory procession with drums on the streets.
The Election Commission has made it clear that the Model Code of Conduct has been extended till November 16, hence even after the counting of votes, there will be a complete ban on any kind of victory procession or public display of celebration.
Why was the date of code of conduct extended?
Actually, earlier the entire election process was to end by 13th November, but it has been extended by three more days to 16th November. According to the Election Commission, this decision has been taken to maintain peace and law and order. This means that all election-related rules, such as the ban on rallies, processions and public meetings, will remain in force till November 16.
The district administration has informed all political parties and candidates about this and has also warned that if anyone tries to break these rules, strict action will be taken against him.
