News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made his sharpest attack so far on the opposition parties regarding ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ (Women’s Reservation Bill). While addressing a public program, CM Yogi clearly said that those who kept delaying this bill for decades are guilty of insulting women power. Describing the opposition as partners in this ‘historical sin’, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the women of the country will get their rights.

Opposition cornered over decades of delay

Questioning the intentions of the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that the issue of women’s reservation was pending for decades, but the previous governments never took it seriously. He alleged that whenever the opportunity came to pass this bill, the opposition put it on hold on some pretext or the other. CM Yogi thundered, “Those who are doing politics on this bill today have forgotten that they had laid thorns in the path of women’s empowerment. They are equally partners in this sin.”

Respect for women power, BJP’s resolve

Yogi Adityanath said that for Bharatiya Janata Party, women empowerment is not just a slogan but a mission. Giving the example of ‘Mission Shakti’ in Uttar Pradesh, he told how his government is working at the grassroots level for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women. He stressed that by bringing this bill, PM Modi has assured half of the country’s population that their share in the new India is assured.

Opposition’s ‘double politics’ exposed

Taking a jibe at the opposition, CM Yogi said that some parties in the House are supporting this bill out of compulsion, while internally they are not able to digest it. He said that the opposition fears that if women become empowered, their familial and appeasement politics will end. The Chief Minister appealed to the public to recognize those faces who have violated the rights of matriarchs over the years.

Role of women in mainstream development

At the end of the address, CM Yogi mentioned Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas and other schemes, which are directly benefiting women. He said that when women are involved in the policy-making process, India’s development journey will be even faster. ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ is not just distribution of seats in Parliament, but it is a revolutionary step changing the cultural and political consciousness of India.
