News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a new height to the development of Taj city Agra and has given a call to make it the ‘second Noida’. In a grand function held at Rahankalan on Tuesday, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 325 development projects worth Rs 6466.37 crore. During this period, the most special thing was the bhoomi pujan of ‘Greater Agra’ township, which is being developed under the ‘New City Promotion Scheme’ of the state government. CM clarified that now Agra will not be limited to tourism only, but it will appear before the world as a modern economic and cultural hub.
Master plan of ‘Greater Agra’: Dream city to be built in 450 hectares
‘Greater Agra’ township, to be built at a cost of about Rs 5142 crore, will take shape on 449.65 hectares of land in Raipur and Rahankalan area. The biggest feature of this project being developed by Agra Development Authority (ADA) is the naming of its sectors. The 10 sectors of the township are named after the sacred rivers of the country – Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Godavari, Narmada, Indus, Kaveri, Gomti, Brahmaputra and Krishna. Multi-storey flats, group housing and modern residential plots will be available here for more than 10,000 families.
Investment and employment boom on the lines of Noida
Addressing the public meeting, the Chief Minister said that Greater Agra will not just be a residential area but will become an investment centre. He said, “Just as Noida has attracted big companies from across the country and the world, Agra will now have a similar format. Big companies will come here, which will create thousands of new employment opportunities for the local youth.” The CM also assured that this new city will be ‘smart’ as well as completely ‘safe’, where state-of-the-art security mechanisms and civic amenities will be present.
New edge to infrastructure: After metro, now it is the turn of civil terminal
The CM also made several other announcements to strengthen the infrastructure of Agra. He said that after Agra Metro, the development of the city’s airport will now be accelerated and the new civil terminal will be ready by the end of this year. Apart from this, the government is also seriously working on the development of Fatehpur Sikri and construction of rubber dam in the city. Taking aim at the previous governments, the Chief Minister said that earlier the mafia used to get protection, but now the ‘double engine’ of development is changing the picture of Uttar Pradesh.
