CM Nitish’s big gift to Nalanda, inauguration of schemes worth Rs 810 crore:

News India Live, Digital Desk: Taking his home district Nalanda to new heights of development, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday (26 March 2026) Rs 810 crore Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development schemes. In this program organized in Chandi and surrounding areas, the CM made it clear that the main focus of his government is women empowerment and providing employment to the youth. During this, he took a dig at his opponents and said that in Bihar now ‘work’ speaks, not ‘name’.

‘Development package’ worth Rs 810 crore: What did Nalanda get?

The Chief Minister gifted a total of 122 schemes through remote control.

Education and Health: Several new school buildings, community health centers and Panchayat government buildings were inaugurated.

Roads and infrastructure: Paved roads connecting rural areas and check dam projects for water harvesting were initiated.

Rejuvenation of Chandi: The Chief Minister especially laid emphasis on agro-based industries and skill development centers in Chandi block.

Women Empowerment: “Daughters are studying, Bihar is growing”

Nitish Kumar looked emotional while addressing the program. He said that when he took power, girls were afraid of going to school, but today they are writing the story of self-reliance by riding bicycles.

Reservation in government jobs: The CM reminded that Bihar is the first state in the country to give 35% reservation to women in police and other government jobs.

Jeevika Didis: Praising the women of ‘Jeevika’ group, he said that today more than 1.30 crore women of Bihar have become the economic backbone of their families.

Big claim on employment: “The target of 10 lakh will be completed soon”

Responding to opposition attacks on the employment issue, Nitish Kumar said that his government is working in mission mode.

Appointment letter: He announced that the process of filling the vacant posts in the Education and Health Department is in the final stages.

Entrepreneur Scheme: The Chief Minister said that under the ‘Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana’, youth are being given financial assistance to start their own business, due to which they are becoming ‘job givers and not job seekers’.

Message to opponents: “Just talking does not lead to development”

Taking aim at Tejashwi Yadav and other opposition leaders without naming them, the CM said, “Some people only know how to campaign on social media, but the people of Nalanda are seeing what is happening on the ground.” He said that the wheel of development will not stop with justice in Bihar.
