News India Live, Digital Desk: Chirag Paswan’s New Move: After winning the 100% strike rate (ie all 5 seats fought) in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan is now in full action. He has started preparations for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, and one of his steps has created a new political stir within the Bihar NDA (including BJP, JDU and LJP-R).
Chirag Paswan has appointed ‘In-Charge’ of his party in all 243 assembly seats in Bihar. In political language, this means that his party is preparing to contest every seat. Even though it may be a step to strengthen the organization, it has increased the concern of allies, especially Nitish Kumar’s JDU.
Why is JDU upset?
The reason for JDU’s tension is 2020 assembly elections. In that election, Chirag Paswan fought after separating from NDA and he particularly fielded his candidates against JDU candidates. Due to this ‘Chirag Model’, JDU had suffered heavy losses in many seats and its seats were reduced from 71 to only 43. Now when Chirag is preparing again on every seat, JDU is afraid that history should not be repeated again.
Chirag’s increased strength and pressure politics
Chirag Paswan’s political stature has increased significantly after a spectacular performance in the Lok Sabha elections. He has now emerged as a strong column in the NDA. By appointing in -charge on all seats, he is giving two messages simultaneously:
-
Strong the organization: He wants to strengthen his party to the booth level, so that his party is not limited to some areas only.
-
Pressure strategy: This is also a strategy to create a pressure before the conversation for seat sharing. This means that when seats are divided for the assembly elections, Chirag will demand more seats than ever.
Chirag says that his goal is to bring the vision of ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’ to the ground. But his move has made it clear that he is now ready to play a big and decisive role in Bihar politics, making the equations a bit difficult for his colleagues.
