Chief Minister Yogi once again cracks down on negligence and corruption, 28 consolidation officers punished | News India

– On the instructions of CM, under the zero tolerance policy, major action was taken against delay, negligence, irregularity and corruption in the settlement of consolidation related cases.

Lucknow, 31 August (HS). The Yogi government's whip against misuse of power, negligence in work and corruption continues. After the strict stand of Chief Minister Yogi, the process of action against careless officers in the Consolidation Department is continuing one after the other. In this sequence, on the instructions of CM Yogi, more than two dozen consolidation officers of eight divisions have been punished for delay, negligence and irregularities in the settlement of consolidation related matters.

In this, suspension, seeking explanation and disciplinary action have been taken against 13 Settlement Consolidation Officers. At the same time, instructions have been given to remove a Deputy Director Consolidation Officer from the post, while an explanation has been sought from another Deputy Director Consolidation Officer for negligence. Similarly, disciplinary action has been taken against a Consolidation Officer, explanation has been sought along with withholding the salary of an Assistant Consolidation Officer. Apart from this, disciplinary action has been taken against three Assistant Consolidation Officers. Not only this, a proposal for 20 percent cut in pension due to irregularity during service was sent to the government by a retired Assistant Consolidation Officer. Apart from this, strict action was taken against many others as well.

Proposal for 20 percent reduction in pension sent to the government

Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen said that as per the wishes of Chief Minister Yogi, a review meeting of the department is held from time to time to curb corruption under the zero tolerance policy. In this sequence, in the recent review meeting, negligence, irregularities and corruption activities were found in the work of many officers. Its report was sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on which instructions were given to take strict action against all.

In the same sequence, action was taken against the consolidation officers of eight divisions Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya and Devipatan. Among them, Pawan Kumar Singh, Shriprakash Chandra Uttam, Rakesh Kumar, Suresh Kumar Sagar, Manohar Lal and Swatantra Veer Singh Yadav, settlement officers of Bareilly, Hardoi, Lalitpur, Unnao, Chitrakoot and Jaunpur have been summoned for their response for not making the expected progress in consolidation works.

While Pratapgarh's Deputy Director Consolidation and Chief Revenue Officer Rakesh Kumar Gupta has been asked for an explanation for not discharging supervisory responsibilities, a letter has been written to the Appointment Department to remove Gorakhpur's Deputy Director Consolidation Officer Raj Narayan Tripathi from his post for not providing information regarding the progress of work. At the same time, a proposal has been sent to the government to cut 20 percent of pension of retired Assistant Consolidation Officer Ramesh Pal Singh Rana for irregularities in service.

Kushinagar settlement officer suspended for negligence

Relief Commissioner informed that Settlement Officer Consolidation Santosh Kumar of Kushinagar was suspended for negligence in work. Also, a letter has been written to the government for departmental action. Apart from this, disciplinary action was taken against Settlement Officer Consolidation Pawan Kumar Sidhu of Varanasi for not completing the work of village Ajgara targeted under section-52 and not releasing the transferred Consolidation Lekhpals, along with withholding salary. Along with this, disciplinary action was taken against Settlement Officer Consolidation Mohan Lal then, Narendra Singh, Shashikant Shukla and Pawan Pandey of Shahjahanpur, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur and Deoria for laxity in work. Not only this, disciplinary action was taken against Settlement Officer Consolidation Dhamendra Singh of Kannauj, Consolidation Officer Shiv Narayan Gupta of Barabanki, Junior Assistant Umashankar of Barabanki for irregularities in investigation. Assistant Consolidation Officer Mahendra Singh's salary was stopped for not completing the work of village Lalauti of Fatehpur as per target. Also, an explanation has been sought. Similarly, disciplinary action was taken against Balrampur's assistant consolidation officer Sandeep Yadav for not completing the work of village mosque.

Instructions given to suspend the consolidation officer and consolidation accountant

When the work of village Rajepur Sarai Arjani of Prayagraj and village Dhami of Pratapgarh was not completed as per target, the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer was identified and disciplinary action was taken. When the work of village Tiira of Jaunpur was not completed, disciplinary action was taken against Assistant Consolidation Officer Sanjay Maurya and the Consolidator, Consolidation Lekhpal were identified and suspended and instructions were given for departmental action. When the work of village Mahua of Azamgarh was not completed, explanation of the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer was sought and disciplinary action was taken by determining the responsibility of Consolidator, Consolidation Lekhpal.
