In this festival lasting nine days, nine forms of Goddess Durga will be worshipped. According to the latest calculations of March 11, 2026, this time many auspicious coincidences are taking place on Navratri, which are considered extremely fruitful for fulfilling the wishes of the devotees.

Establishing the Kalash on Pratipada Tithi has special significance. The main Muhurats of this year according to Udaya Tithi are given below:

Chaitra Navratri starts: 19 March 2026 (Thursday)

Auspicious time for establishing Kalash: Morning 06:14 AM to 10:25 AM till.

Abhijeet Muhurat: Afternoon 12:04 PM to 12:53 PM Till (this time is considered the best for Ghatasthapana).

Simple puja method for establishing Kalash (Step-by-Step)

Purification of location: Wake up early in the morning and take bath and purify the place of worship with Ganga water.

Earthenware: Put clean soil in an earthen pot and sow barley in it.

Preparation of Kalash: Tie Kalava on a copper or clay pot and make a Swastika on it. Put water, Akshat, coin and betel nut in the Kalash.

Mango leaves: Place 5 or 7 leaves of mango or ashoka on the mouth of the Kalash.

Coconut: Wrap a coconut in red cloth and install it on top of the Kalash.

Resolution: While meditating on the Mother Goddess, take a pledge to fast and worship and light the Akhand Jyoti (if possible).

5 important rules to keep in mind during Navratri

Satvik Food: In these nine days, completely give up onion, garlic and tamasic food.

Following celibacy: Purity of mind and actions is mandatory during puja.

Akhand Jyoti: If you have lit Akhand Jyoti in the house, then never leave the house empty.

Cleanliness: Decorate the mother every day and maintain cleanliness in the house.

Silence and chanting mantra: Mentally chant the mantras of the Goddess (eg: ‘Om Ain Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vicche’) as much as possible.
