A new study published in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging found that chemotherapy disrupts brain connectivity in breast cancer patients, and with the progression of treatment, this change increases. 55 breast cancer patients participated in this research. In this study, researchers compared the functional MRI scans of 55 breast cancer patients taking chemotherapy for several months with 38 healthy people. In which the researchers saw significant changes in the frontal-limbic system. It has seen changes in executive functions like memory and coordination in breast cancer patients. In addition, the situation worsened as chemotherapy continued.
