News India Live, Digital Desk: A peculiar and disturbing incident from Bihar has come to light which has raised new questions on the facilities of railway safety and passengers. A train coming from Gorakhpur had to stop at a small railway station in Bihar, only one mobile theft, for a full 45 minutes. Due to this sudden delay, the entire operation of the train was affected and the passengers sitting in it also faced unnecessary inconvenience. According to the information, this incident happened when a passenger’s mobile phone was stolen in the moving train. As soon as the theft was reported to the railway police and staff present in the train, they decided to take immediate action. Railway officials and local police jointly stopped the train at an unknown small station in Bihar to find out the thief and stolen mobile. In an attempt to search and catch the thief, police and railway security forces personnel searched various coaches of the train intensively and questioned the suspects. The entire process took about three-fourths of hours, during which the train remained standing there. However, it has not been confirmed whether the stolen mobile phone could be recovered in this campaign or the thief was caught on the spot. After the incident, when the search was completed and the railway officials felt that they could not proceed, then the train was allowed to go to the destination. The trains usually do not stay in the middle for so long for such small complaints, especially unless there is a major safety violation or serious emergency situation. This incident shows that even in moving trains, passengers are falling prey to minor crimes, and the process of reacting to them is often delayed or other passengers on a large scale. The railway administration needs to review its policies and procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and respond to such incidents immediately and effectively, so that the operation is minimized and also ensure passenger safety.
