The changed weather in Bihar on Friday (29 May 2026) has not only affected life, but has also had a negative impact on railway operations. Due to heavy rains and strong winds in the surrounding areas of Gaya district, many major trains on the Gaya-Dhanbad railway section were stuck for hours. At the same time, one person has died tragically due to thunderbolt in Dumariya, Gaya.

Rail operations disrupted: many important trains stuck

Due to heavy rain and slippery tracks, officials had to stop many trains at various stations keeping safety in mind. According to railway officials, train operations were affected from around 8:30 am on Friday.

Major trains affected:

• New Delhi-Howrah Duronto Express: Baskatwa got stuck on the uphill section of the ghat section near the railway halt.

• Vande Bharat Express: Stopped near Tankuppa.

• Ajmer-Sealdah Express: Near Gurpa Station.

• Janshatabdi Express: Near Paharpur station.

Railway’s action: Railway officials, employees and PWI teams are conducting thorough inspection of the tracks on all railway sections. Trains are being started gradually only after ensuring safety.

Thunderstorm havoc in Gaya

A tragic incident of lightning (lightning) has come to light in Bhadwar village of Dumariya in Gaya district during bad weather.

• Identification of the deceased: Dinesh Yadav, resident of Tola Bichlitand of Barwadih village, died on the spot.

• Injured: A woman who was grazing cattle with him also got serious burns after being hit by the lightning, and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

CM gave instructions for survey of crop loss

This sudden storm, rain and hailstorm in the state has caused huge damage to farmers’ crops and fruits (especially mango and litchi). Taking cognizance of this, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has given immediate instructions to the Disaster Management and Agriculture Department:

CM’s instructions: “A survey of damage to crops and fruits in many districts of the state should be conducted as soon as possible. Appropriate compensation and relief amount will be provided to the affected farmers by the government as per rules.”

The administration has appealed to people not to stand under trees during bad weather and take shelter in safe places. Teams of Railways and Disaster Management Department are keeping a close watch on the situation.
