Choice filling deadline extended: what is the reason?
MCC has extended the choice filling ’till further orders’ through a notice issued on the evening of January 28. The main reasons for this are as follows:
Addition of new seats: The National Medical Commission (NMC) during the counseling process asked about 292 new PG seats Approval has been given to add.
opportunity: These new seats include high-demand branches like Radiology, Dermatology and General Medicine, so the portal has been re-opened so that students can avail the benefits.
Seats withdrawn: Due to some technical reasons, 3 seats have also been removed from the matrix.
‘Historic’ drop in cut-offs: Chance at 0 percentile
The biggest news of this year’s counseling is the huge reduction in cut-offs. National Board of Examination (NBE) has brought down the qualifying cut-off to the lowest level to fill the vacant seats:
General Category: just minus 50 7 percentile.
Reserved Category (SC/ST/OBC): by subtracting it zero (0) percentile Has been done.
Note: After this change, thousands of new students have become eligible for Round 3 counselling.
Important rules of Round 3: Don’t miss
Candidates appearing in the third round should take special care of these rules:
No Withdrawal: If you are allotted a seat in Round 3, it will not be possible to leave or resign from it. You have to report to that college.
Upgradation: Round 2 candidates who had got seats can opt for upgradation to a better college.
Choice Unlocking: Candidates who had already locked the choices can use the ‘Unlock’ option to place the newly added seats higher in their list.

Seat Matrix: Download the revised seat matrix from the ‘Current Events’ section and note down the new seat codes.
Priority List: Rearrange your choices as per the new seats.
