News India Live, Digital Desk: The written examination of Uttar Pradesh Police Sub Inspector (SI) Direct Recruitment-2025 is being held on 14 and 15 March 2026. To ease the travel of more than 15 lakh candidates appearing in this examination, Northern Railway (NR) and North Central Railway (NCR) have launched dozens of special trains. This facility is especially for those students who have to reach far-flung examination centres.

Important Routes & Timings

Railways have made special arrangements to connect cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Bijnor and Bareilly:

Lucknow – Prayagraj Sangam (04222): This train will run from Lucknow at 17:45 pm on 14th and 15th March. On the way it will stop at stations like Rae Bareli, Amethi and Pratapgarh.

Lucknow – Varanasi (04220): Will depart from Lucknow at 18:20 pm. It will reach Varanasi via Ayodhya Dham, Shahganj and Jaunpur.

Bijnor – Bareilly (04350/04349): It will leave from Bijnor at 04:20 am and reach Bareilly at 08:50 am. In return, it will leave from Bareilly at 13:00 pm.

Lucknow – Shahjahanpur (04247/04248): It will leave Lucknow at 04:10 am and reach Shahjahanpur at 07:15 am. Return will be at 13:00 PM.

Chapra – Prayagraj Rambagh (05179/05180): It will depart from Chapra at 18:30 pm via Varanasi and reach Prayagraj at 02:30 am.

Special preparations for Jhansi and Kanpur division

Jhansi Division has sent a proposal for about a dozen special trains, which are mainly Jhansi-Kanpur, Mahoba-Banda and Manikpur-Prayagraj Will run on the route. Apart from this, in view of the rush of candidates, stoppage of many local MEMU trains has also been ensured at major stations like Orai.

Important instructions for candidates

Arrive early: Additional GRP and RPF personnel are deployed at the station for crowd management. Reach at least 1 hour before your train time.

Ticket Window: Additional ticket counters have been opened at major stations for examination special trains.

Security Check: Like examination centres, intensive checking campaign is being conducted at railway stations also.
