Bhopal: Railway-NDRF practiced relief operations at Sukhi Sevaniya station

Bhopal, 23 February (HS). As per the instructions of the Railway Board, Bhopal Railway Division and NDRF team conducted a joint exercise of accident relief and rescue operations at Sukhi Sewaniya station on Friday.

On Friday, a joint full scale exercise was conducted to test the preparedness for disaster management at the goods siding of Sukhisevaniya Railway Station, in which, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi and Principal Chief Safety Officer Jabalpur Prabhat Kumar, Railway officers/employees and Chief of NDRF. NDRF team participated under the leadership of Ravi Singh.

In this exercise, an accident scene was created involving two coaches, one AC-2 tire coach and one GS coach. The AC coach was derailed, and a GS coach was placed on top of it, carrying artists from the Railway Cultural Academy and members of the Civil Defense as injured and casualty passengers. The accident relief and rescue exercise started at 12.10 when the guard informed Sukhisevaniya station that a passenger train had met with an accident in which several passengers are feared to have been injured. The Sukhisevaniya Station Master immediately informed the Railway Control Room. By sounding the hooter (siren), the DI and control room sent the accident relief vehicle and medical vehicle of Bhopal railway station to Sukhisevania station. When the accident relief train arrived, Railways and NDRF jointly took out the passengers with the help of ropes and stretchers by cutting the windows, breaking the window panes and cutting the roof of the AC coach. It is noteworthy here that those trapped under the bogie The passengers were evacuated by lifting them with airbags, the team of doctors accompanying the accident relief medical vehicle practiced giving treatment to the injured passengers and sending them to the hospital by ambulance, SDRF Chief Chetan Kannauji was also present in this exercise with his team. .

As soon as the information was received from the station, the civil administration also became active and within a short time, the participation of Tehsildar, Patwari, Sarpanch etc. civil authorities along with their respective constables in-charge of GRP police station and Sukhsevaniya police station took place and apart from these, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers participated. Reached the spot and participated in the joint exercise. Doctors from J.P. Hospital and their medical team, doctors from Red Cross organization and their medical team, 108 ambulance and local doctors also reached the incident site and also participated in this joint exercise.

Divisional Railway Manager Bhopal and Principal Chief Safety Officer Jabalpur inspected the equipment of NDRF after the mock exercise and also inspected the accident relief train of Railways and met all the participating members. In this joint exercise, videography of the entire accident site was also done by the Railways with the help of drone cameras.

During this full scale exercise, Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi and senior railway officers of Bhopal Division, doctors, railway engineers, supervisors, artists of Cultural Academy and civil defense workers also participated. During the entire exercise, coordination between all the departments was done by Senior Divisional Safety Officer Ravindra Sharma. The joint crash exercise concluded successfully at 13.00 hrs.
