Dhaka: The dramatic developments in Bangladesh since the change of power have now taken international turns. The National Bureau of Bangladesh Police (NCB) has made an official request from Interpol to issue a red corner notice against the overthrow Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and his associates. The demand has been made against a total of 12 people including Sheikh Hasina, including former cabinet ministers, advisors, military officers and civil officials. All of them are serious allegations of ‘crime against humanity’ and ‘genocide’.

According to the tribunal, Hasina and her government committed several human rights violations while in power, as well as cruel acts and massacres against the opponents.

Interpol Red Corner notice is requested to detect a fugitive, temporarily arrest and receive technical assistance for extradition.
