
News India Live, Digital Desk: After deliberations with the Department of Education and other stakeholders, the state government has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on 6 June. The latest developments were confirmed in an order issued by the State Education Department. Government of Kerala Earlier Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) In view of the public holiday on 7 June (Saturday), amending the earlier announcement, on Friday declared Action Day.
Initially, 6 June was declared a public holiday. But after getting confirmation from religious scholars that Bakrid would be celebrated on 7 June, the government amended the holiday program. However, this decision was strongly criticized, due to which the government had to amend the order.
As per the revised order, all educational institutions of the state, including vocational colleges, will remain closed on Friday and Saturday. However, on Friday, government offices and public sector undertakings will function normally. Saturday will be a complete public holiday in the entire state.
