News India Live, Digital Desk: Neighboring country Pakistan has once again been shaken by a horrific terrorist attack. This time the target has been Pakistan’s ‘National Refinery Limited’ (NRL). Unidentified gunmen tried to cause massive destruction by firing indiscriminately at the refinery site in Darigwan, Balochistan. This attack has not only exposed Pakistan’s security system but has also exposed its poor condition on the international stage. After the attack, the entire area has been converted into a cantonment and the army’s ‘clearance operation’ is going on.

Attack on refinery at midnight: Balochistan echoed with the sound of bullets.

According to the information received, the attackers were armed with sophisticated weapons and tried to enter inside the refinery by breaking the security cordon. Sources say that the aim of the terrorists was to break the back of Pakistan’s already crippled economy by blowing up the refinery. After this attack on the refinery site, an encounter continued for hours between Pakistani security forces and the gunmen. Although no organization has yet claimed responsibility for this attack, the needle of suspicion is turning towards Baloch separatist groups.

Fear of India and America: What is the real ‘fear’?

Interestingly, after this attack, discussions regarding India and America have intensified in the Pakistani media and government. Pakistan has often blamed India for the terrorist attacks taking place there, whereas the reality is that the insurgency in Balochistan is raging due to its own repressive policies. At the same time, despite America declaring Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) as a global terrorist organization, the series of attacks is not stopping there. Pakistan fears that if it is not able to protect its energy institutions, foreign investment will stop completely.

Threat looms on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)

This attack has happened at a time when Pakistan along with China is trying to save the CPEC project worth billions of dollars. Balochistan is the area where China has the maximum investment. The attack on the refinery has created fear among Chinese engineers and investors. Defense experts believe that if attacks on oil and gas reserves continue like this, Pakistan may sink into darkness. Refinery Limited has issued a statement saying that they are assessing the damage, but operations are currently at a standstill.

Pakistan moving towards civil war: Oil reserves are unsafe

In the last few months, attacks on the army, mines and now the refinery in Balochistan have proved that there is a civil war-like situation there. Local people allege that Islamabad is looting their natural resources, in response to which these attacks are taking place. This latest attack has given sleepless nights to the Shehbaz Sharif government, because on one hand there is inflation and on the other hand it is becoming impossible to stay safe inside the country.
