Artistic gymnastics: FIS announces first stage of Paris 2024 competition draw

Lausanne, 23 February (HS). The International Gymnastics Federation (FIS) on Thursday announced the first stage of the artistic gymnastics competition draw for Paris 2024.

Reigning world champions Japan (men) and United States (women) will begin their Olympic campaigns on vault and balance beam respectively during the opening round of the artistic gymnastics competition at Paris 2024.

“The Olympic draw determines the order in which athletes will compete during the men's and women's team, individual qualifications as well as the individual apparatus finals,” FIS said in an official statement.

Teams and mixed groups were placed in subdivisions and mechanisms to decide the order in the first stage of the draw for qualification.

The second stage will take place after the final qualification event for Paris 2024, in which individual gymnasts will be placed in mixed groups.

12 teams each in the men's and women's divisions will compete in the team competition at the Bercy Arena in Paris from 27 to 30 July and the top eight teams will advance to the men's and women's team finals on 29 and 30 July.
