News India Live, Digital Desk: The second session (April session) of the country’s most prestigious engineering entrance examination ‘JEE Main 2026’ has started from today, April 2. This examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is being conducted in various centers in the country as well as abroad. This time, NTA has issued a very strict advisory to conduct the examination in a fair and transparent manner. Special instructions have been given especially for the candidates of states like Bihar, so that they can avoid any kind of technical or administrative hindrance.
Exam schedule: There will be a battle in two shifts
According to NTA, Paper-1 (BE/B.Tech) examinations are being conducted on April 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8. The examination is being conducted in two shifts—the first shift from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and the second shift from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Tight security arrangements have been made at the centers set up in major cities of Bihar like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Bhagalpur.
NTA’s strict guidelines: What to do and what not to do?
Candidates have been advised to reach the center at least 1 to 2 hours before the reporting time. After the gate is closed, entry will not be given at any cost.
Mandatory Documents: Printout of Admit Card, a valid photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport etc.) and passport size photograph (same as uploaded in the form).
dress code: Candidates have been asked to wear simple and comfortable clothes. Clothing, shoes and metal items (e.g. belts, chains) with large buttons are prohibited. Wearing sandals or low heel slippers is allowed.
Prohibited items: Carrying mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices or any kind of electronic gadget is strictly prohibited.
Special instructions for candidates of Bihar
In view of the huge crowd of students at many centers in Bihar, the administration has made special arrangements for traffic and security. NTA has clarified that follow the instructions given on the admit card literally. Bihar candidates are specifically advised to check the clarity of the ‘Bar Code’ and ‘QR Code’ given on their admit card. If anyone is facing difficulty in downloading the admit card, they can immediately contact the helpline number of NTA.
Double checking of biometrics and frisking
This time, to prevent fraud, ‘manual frisking’ as well as biometric attendance has been made mandatory at the entry point itself. Separate frisking booths have been made for women candidates. Videography and jammers are also being used inside the examination hall to prevent any kind of unfair activity.
B.Arch and B.Planning exam on 7th April
Apart from engineering, the examination of B.Arch (Paper 2A) and B.Planning (Paper 2B) will be conducted on April 7. For this also NTA has issued separate city slip and admit card. About 11.23 lakh students are appearing in the session-2 examination this time, which is much more than previous years.
