An former American soldier kidnapped an aircraft in Belize; Many people were saved by the actions of a brave passenger

Identity of kidnapper

The kidnapper has been identified as Akinila Taylor. According to Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams, Taylor is said to be a former American soldier, but has not yet been officially confirmed by US officials. One of the injured passengers during the incident had a valid gun license. Even in a very dangerous and frightening situation, this passenger maintained his patience and shot the kidnapper. Taylor died on the spot. The passenger then handed over his gun to the police.

It was their calm nature that caused the aircraft to land safely.” Two passengers and pilots injured in knife are currently undergoing treatment. A passenger’s lungs have suffered severe damage and their condition is critical. US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce said in Washington, “More information about the incident is being collected. We are in constant touch with Belize officials.”
