Amroha: The Public Works Department (PWD) has started the work of widening the much-awaited Amroha-Kailsa road, which will provide great relief to thousands of people traveling on this route. Under this project, the existing width of the road will be increased from 7 meters to 10 meters.
What is the whole plan?
- Overall Length: This road is to be widened to a total of 21 kilometers.
- First Step: In the first phase, work has been started on nine and a half kilometer stretch.
- Total Cost: More than Rs 24 crore will be spent on this entire widening.
- Deadline: The department has set a target to complete this construction work by March 2026.
From where to where will the road be widened?
At present, the width of the road from Amroha to Amberpur intersection is fine, but from Amberpur intersection to Kailsa and Payanti Kala, this road is very narrow, whose width is only seven meters. Now this part will be widened by ten meters.
Work started, encroachments will be removed
As soon as the department received the funds, the work of digging the road has been started. At present, digging from one side is being done by putting stones in it and leveling it with a roller.
PWD Executive Engineer (XEN), Girish Kumar Singh said that the trees, electric poles and other encroachments hindering the widening will be removed soon. He said that the people whose places are coming under the influence of the road in Kasba Kailsa Border, Telipura and Payanti Kalan villages will also be removed by the officials so that there is no hindrance in the work.
