Amidst the record breaking heat and record breaking demand for electricity in Bihar, the Nitish government has announced a huge and comforting relief to the people of the state. The government has made it clear that now the consumers of the state will not have to face any kind of power cut even during the time of highest demand i.e. ‘peak hours’. Along with this, to protect the interests of honest consumers, the government has given a strong warning to the mafias and anti-social elements involved in electricity theft that they will not be spared under any circumstances. These important decisions were officially announced by two senior ministers of the government after a special ‘public hearing’ program organized at the state office of Janata Dal United (JDU) in the capital Patna on Tuesday.
Uninterrupted supply during peak hours: Energy Minister Bulo Mandal clarified the vision
After the conclusion of the public hearing program, while addressing the media persons, State Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal shared the government’s roadmap regarding the power system of Bihar. He said, ‘In view of the extreme heat, the Energy Department is on alert round the clock. The department is working on war footing at all levels to ensure that consumers continue to get uninterrupted power supply 24 hours a day without any tripping, even during peak hours.
Along with this, expressing concern over the huge loss being caused to the department and government revenue due to electricity theft, the Energy Minister said that now it will be completely tightened. He said in a warning tone that to effectively stop electricity theft, special vigilance teams are conducting rapid raids across the state and strict legal action will be taken by registering FIR directly against the culprits.
Free solar panels will shine on the houses of 10 lakh BPL families
Energy Minister Bulo Mandal revealed another extremely welfare and big scheme for the poor families of Bihar. He said that the Central Government’s ambitious ‘Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’ It is being implemented in Bihar very aggressively and at a fast pace.
Under this scheme, in the coming time, 10 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) families of Bihar will be directly connected and solar panels will be installed on the roofs of their houses completely free of cost. With this revolutionary step, not only will the electricity bill of poor families become zero and they will get free electricity, but they will also be able to become completely self-reliant in the field of energy production.
