Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has claimed that American drones are still intruding into Afghan airspace and that these flights enter Afghanistan through some neighboring countries. In an interview with Iranian broadcaster IRIB, Mujahid called it a gross violation of the country’s sovereignty and called for an immediate halt to these flights.
Mujahid said in the interview that American drones are constantly monitoring Afghanistan’s airspace. Although he did not specify which neighboring country’s airspace these drones were flying through, he had earlier also accused Pakistan of providing such a route.

Mujahid said the Taliban is pursuing a balanced and economy-centric foreign policy and wants relations with all countries, including the US. The only condition is that the sovereignty of Afghanistan be respected. When asked whether the US could re-establish its military presence in Afghanistan, Mujahid clearly said that the Taliban will not give even an inch of land to any foreign power.
He also dismissed reports of the presence of Chinese troops at Bagram Air Base, saying that neither the US nor China has backed down, and the Taliban will not allow any country to build a military base. According to a Taliban spokesman, the Taliban government has completed 70 percent of its programs over the past four years, but sanctions, travel restrictions and lack of international recognition remain major challenges.
Tension on the border and allegations against Pakistan
This claim of Taliban spokesperson has come at a time when tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan is at its peak. Last week, Mujahid had once again accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire. A ceasefire was established between the two countries on 15 October, which was later extended in meetings in Doha and Istanbul. Despite this, the tension on the border seems to be increasing instead of decreasing.
