News India Live, Digital Desk: The city of Ayodhya is once again going to witness a supernatural and historical event. On the holy occasion of Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami, the sun’s rays will do ’tilak’ on the forehead of Lord Shri Ram. The eyes of the whole world are fixed on Ram Temple to see this unique confluence of modern science and ancient spirituality. But do you know why this Surya Tilak of Ramlala is so important? It is directly related to the lineage of Lord Rama. According to the scriptures, Lord Shri Ram is considered ‘Suryavanshi’, and the anointment of the sun’s rays on his forehead reflects the glory of his clan.

Confluence of science and faith: How will Ramlala’s ‘Surya Tilak’ be?

Scientists of Roorkee have prepared a special ‘opto-mechanical’ system to deliver the sun’s rays to the head of Ram Lalla enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram temple. It uses a precise network of mirrors and lenses. On the day of Ram Navami, at exactly 12 noon, the sun’s rays will reach the sanctum sanctorum through the upper floor of the temple and illuminate the forehead of the Lord. This scene, which will last for about 4 minutes, will remind the devotees of Tretayuga, when the Sun God himself used to descend on earth to greet his descendants.

Relation of Ikshvaku dynasty and Sun God: Why is Ram called ‘Suryavanshi’?

According to Hindu scriptures and Valmiki Ramayana, Lord Rama was born into the Ikshvaku dynasty, which was founded by King Vivasvan (Sun God), son of Surya. For this reason this clan is called ‘Suryavansh’. In Suryavansh, there were great kings like King Harishchandra, Sagar, Bhagiratha and Raghu, after whom it was also called ‘Raghuvansh’. Suryadev is the family deity of this dynasty. Maryada Purushottam Ram, through his conduct, showed the light of truth and religion to the society just like the Sun, that is why he is called ‘Suryavanshi’ Shiromani.

Devotees will gather in Ayodhya on Ram Navami

Ayodhya administration and Ram Mandir Trust have made extensive preparations for this wonderful incident of Surya Tilak. Big LED screens are being installed in the temple premises so that every devotee can see this holy moment. Astrologers believe that Surya Tilak is not only a sight, but it is also a symbol of good luck and prosperity of the nation. This moment will be emotional for the devotees of Ram, when the Sun God will worship his idol in person through science.
