News India Live, Digital Desk: A relief news has come for students and parents from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, regarding Chhath Puja, the great festival of folk faith. Tomorrow, on the occasion of Chhath Puja, i.e. the day of offering Arghya to the rising sun, holiday has been declared in all the schools of Lucknow.

District Magistrate (DM) Surya Pal Gangwar has issued an order in this regard on Monday. According to the order, due to Chhath Puja festival, there will be holiday in all government, non-government and private schools up to class 12 in the district.

Why was this decision taken?

This decision has been taken in view of the importance of Chhath Puja and the huge number of devotees attending it. Chhath Puja is a major festival, especially in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, but now it is celebrated with great pomp throughout the country. Even in Lucknow, lakhs of devotees and their family members gather at the ghats and other lakes of river Gomti to offer Arghya to the Sun God.

Many teachers, students and their parents also participate in this fast and worship. In view of the huge crowd and traffic situation at the ghats early in the morning, the administration has taken this decision so that people do not face any inconvenience and they can celebrate this festival with full devotion.

In the order issued by the District Magistrate, it has been said that this holiday will be applicable to schools of all boards (UP Board, CBSE, ICSE) from nursery to class 12. District Basic Education Officer and District School Inspector have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with this order.

Apart from Lucknow, the local administration in many other districts of Uttar Pradesh has also declared a holiday on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
