Due to continuous torrential rains in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, incidents of landslides and rock slides have increased, due to which many major roads have been closed. At the same time, loss of life and property has been seen in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh due to lightning.
Alert of heavy rain and storm in more than 14 states
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in more than 14 states of the country on July 30, 2026. During this period, a strong storm with a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour has also been predicted. Due to strong winds, there will be a danger of old trees, dilapidated buildings and electric poles falling. IMD has advised local citizens and travelers to remain alert and stay in safe places.

The sky will be densely cloudy in the capital Delhi and its adjacent Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad from this morning. According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent moderate rain and thundershowers are expected throughout the day. Due to rain, there will be a drop in the maximum temperature of Delhi-NCR, although due to high level of humidity in the air, humidity may be felt. Drivers may have to face waterlogging and traffic jams.

There is a possibility of light to moderate scattered rain in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in South India today. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people living in areas affected by rain and floods to follow administrative guidelines and avoid traveling without reason.
