News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again made a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav. CM Yogi said that Akhilesh Yadav not only hates Ram Mandir, but he also hates the holy festival like Diwali.
What is the whole matter?
This statement has probably come as a reaction to some statement in which Akhilesh Yadav has raised questions on BJP or the festivals or development works being celebrated by them. CM Yogi linked this to SP’s “appeasement politics” and said that SP works only to please the vote bank.
Yogi’s statement:
Yogi Adityanath said, “Akhilesh Yadav not only hates the Ram temple, but he also does not mark his presence on auspicious occasions like Diwali. This reflects his appeasement mindset. When Diwali is celebrated in the state, he sits in his homes.”
CM Yogi further said that the BJP government has given respect to every festival in the state and has taken forward the development works, whereas the SP has only pushed the state backward.
War of words between SP-BJP:
This statement is once again a part of the ongoing war of words between SP and BJP in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Both the parties are continuously attacking each other in view of the upcoming elections. This statement of CM Yogi is being seen as an attempt to corner Akhilesh Yadav on the issue of soft Hindutva.
Akhilesh Yadav’s reaction:
Till now there has been no direct response from Akhilesh Yadav on this statement, but it is expected that he will soon respond to CM Yogi’s allegations.
This statement once again highlights the importance of religious and cultural issues in the politics of Uttar Pradesh.
