News India Live, Digital Desk: The Pintu murder case in Mokama has once again created a stir in the politics here. On one hand, powerful former MLA Anant Singh has been arrested in this case, while now his election rival and Jan Suraj candidate Piyush Kumar has also been arrested. Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey has made it clear that the police has strong evidence against Piyush Kumar and he too will be arrested soon.
What is the whole matter?
Recently a young man named Pintu was murdered in Mokama. The strings of this massacre were directly linked to the politics and muscle power of the area. The police acted swiftly and arrested former MLA Anant Singh. But now the heat of investigation has reached the opposing camp of Anant Singh also.
DGP gave direct warning
On Friday, DGP Gupteshwar Pandey held a high level meeting with many senior police officers including IG and SSP in Patna regarding this high-profile case. After the meeting, while talking to the media, he said in a very strict tone, “Anant Singh has been arrested and now it is Piyush Kumar’s turn. We will arrest him too. No one is above the law, no matter how big he is.”
The DGP said that the police is working with complete impartiality in this case and no culprit will be spared. He said that the investigation is still going on and every person involved in this murder will be brought behind the bars.
Did he lose his life due to political rivalry?
This massacre is believed to be the result of a fight for supremacy in Mokama. Both Anant Singh and Piyush Kumar are big faces of the area and are considered arch rivals of each other. Piyush Kumar is the candidate of Prashant Kishor’s party ‘Jan Suraj’ and he had contested against Anant Singh’s wife Neelam Devi in the last by-election. After this massacre, the tension between the two camps is at its peak and this action of the police has further increased the political excitement in the area. After this statement of DGP, now all eyes are on the arrest of Piyush Kumar.
