According to the USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was 22 kilometers west-southwest of Khulma near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan, at a depth of 28 kilometers below ground level. According to Indian time, this earthquake occurred late at 12:59 pm on Monday. Its tremors were felt in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, Iran’s Mashhad and Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. However, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), there have been no immediate reports of any loss of life or property so far.
