A woman who married her two brothers at the same time:

Hatti Adivasi Community: A bride named Sunita Chauhan married Pradeep and Kapil Negi in a three -day traditional wedding ceremony under the tradition of Hatti tribal community in Shillai village of Himachal Pradesh. In this tradition, brothers marry the same bride, which does not make family land divided and the family remains united. All the villagers were present at the wedding ceremony and the marriage was concluded with traditional music, dance and customs.

Sunita said that she had agreed to her marriage to her will, not under any pressure. The couple said that this marriage was based on mutual consent and consent. Although majority is not common in most parts of India and it has not been recognized in Indian law, but in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, especially for scheduled castes like Hatti community, this practice has been approved by state courts and local laws. The wedding was celebrated with traditional music, folk dances and local customs.

The villagers welcomed this marriage as a proud part of their culture. This form of polygamy, known as brother-in-law, was sometimes common in hilly areas such as Sirmaur, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The recent Scheduled Tribe status Hatti community is allowed to follow family traditions like the partner according to the state’s revenue laws and court decisions. The marriage went viral on social media, and many people expressed surprise and curiosity.
