A tweet by Shahbaz Sharif revealed that White House already knew about Pakistan’s decision, a big embarrassment on social media.

News India Live, Digital Desk: These days, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has become a laughing stock at the international level due to a digital mistake. The matter is related to a post made on the social media platform ‘X’, which has indicated that important decisions of the Pakistan government are known to foreign powers, especially the White House, before the people of the country. After this incident, opposition party Imran Khan’s party PTI has intensified the attack calling Shahbaz government a ‘puppet’.

What is the whole matter? One mistake and there was chaos

Actually, Shahbaz Sharif had shared a post welcoming the proposal of ceasefire in Gaza. A line was visible in the screenshot of this post which revealed that the draft of the post was in the knowledge of the White House or perhaps it was shared from there. At the top of the text of the post, there were some instructions written which are usually used for mutual coordination before sending official messages. As soon as this post became public, social media users caught hold of it and started sharing it.

White House Connection: Is Pakistan government working on dictation?

The main bone of contention was the ‘draft mode’ in which there was reference to the White House. This gave the impression that the social media handle of Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office was directly following US instructions. This issue is also sensitive in Pakistan because the issue of ‘foreign interference’ has always dominated the politics there. Former PM Imran Khan has been continuously alleging that the current government is working at the behest of America, and this one mistake has given further fuel to his claims.

Trolling on social media and government’s clarification

As soon as the Prime Minister’s Office realized the mistake, it immediately deleted the post and updated a new post, but by then it was too late. The viral screenshot has raised question marks on Pakistan’s diplomatic dignity. People are asking whether the Prime Minister of Pakistan has no stand of his own? Although the government is calling it a ‘technical flaw’ and a ‘copy-paste mistake’, Pakistan is being disgraced on the international stage because of this.

Opposition got a big issue while sitting

Imran Khan’s party has not let this opportunity slip away. PTI leaders say that this is strong evidence that Pakistan’s sovereignty is being compromised. He argues that when the Prime Minister of the country waits for foreign approval even for his social media posts, then how can he take independent decisions in the interest of the country? In the coming days, this dispute may deepen further in the internal politics of Pakistan.
