Women’s groups did milk business worth more than ₹ 5000 crore, women empowerment will give new impetus to the rural economy, women are standing equal to men in the White Revolution: Keshav Prasad Maurya


Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, by organizing women milk producers associated with self-help groups in 31 districts and linking them with milk business, currently women groups are doing milk business worth more than ₹ 5000 crore., Which is a proof of the increasing economic capacity and self-reliance of rural women. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya said that milk production and milk business is an important means of strengthening the rural economy and special attention is being given to increasing the participation of women in it. Continuous effective efforts are being made to make women of rural areas economically empowered and self-reliant.

Shri Maurya said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the target of all-round development of rural areas of Uttar Pradesh has been set by the year 2027. To achieve this goal, it is extremely important to connect rural women, i.e. half the population, with the mainstream of development. He said that without the active participation of women the definition of development would appear incomplete. Therefore, State Rural Livelihood Mission and Food Processing jointly provide self-employment to women., It is continuously working towards making them self-reliant by linking them with entrepreneurship, skill development and financial inclusion. He said that the government should ensure availability of better breed of milk animals to the women., It is providing assistance through various schemes to provide information on modern animal husbandry techniques and to encourage manufacturing and marketing of milk products. Also milk collection, Processing and value addition facilities are also being expanded so that the income of women can continuously increase.

Shri Maurya said that just as men played an important role in the White Revolution, in the same way today there is a need to take women’s contribution to new heights by providing them equal opportunities and resources. He said that making women equal to the men of the White Revolution is the need of the hour and this is one of the priorities of the state government. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the clear objective of the double engine government is to 100 percent economically empower the women of rural areas. The economic advancement of women will not only give strength to the family but also to the entire society and rural economy. He said that the vision of a prosperous and developed Uttar Pradesh is incomplete without women empowerment.
