Kanpur, 09 August (HS). Kanpur Commissionerate Police is trying to remove the shortcomings of its department. Under this, action is being taken by regularly investigating the corrupt police personnel. The action continued on Friday as well and the officers found the allegations of bribery against seven policemen including an inspector to be true. Police officials took action to suspend all of them immediately.
Additional Police Commissioner Law and Order Harish Chander said that on the night of August 3, some people were coming from Jajmau. Sub Inspector Satendra Pal Singh, Sub Inspector Palendra Chauhan, constable Anupam and constable driver Kuldeep posted in a government vehicle on traffic duty stopped the people. They beat them up badly and demanded bribe from them. The victim called home and asked for money and gave it to the police personnel. The victim complained about this to the police officers. An investigation was conducted on it. When the accused were found guilty in the investigation, everyone was suspended.
Similarly, Shivrajpur Inspector Shiv Shankar Pal demanded bribe from the victim in a case and the allegations were found to be true in the investigation. Sub-Inspector Pramod Kumar Baisla posted in Bithoor police station met criminals in jail and demanded money from them. Sub-Inspector Rajpal Singh of Bilhaur police station arrested a person wrongly. After keeping him in custody for three days, he was released after taking bribe. Additional Police Commissioner said that all of them have been suspended after the allegations were found to be true in the investigation and orders for departmental inquiry have also been given against all of them. Along with this, similar action will continue in future as well.
Let us tell you that 61 police personnel have been suspended from January 1 to August 9. Departmental action is going on against 177.
