Last night, Naxalites detonated an IED in the forests of Mandimarka in the Tarem police station area of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. 2 soldiers were martyred and 4 soldiers were injured in the blast. The injured soldiers are being treated at the district hospital. Apart from this, preparations are underway to refer them to Raipur by helicopter for better treatment. According to the information, the pipe bomb exploded while returning from the operation. STF head constable Bharat Lal Sahu and constable Sater Singh were martyred in this blast.
Which soldiers were injured?
The injured jawans include Purushottam Nag, Komal Yadav, Siyaram Sori and Sanjay Kumar. When the blast took place, the CRPF, Cobra, CAF, DRG and STF jawans were on an anti-Naxal operation.

In Bijapur district, this week, police arrested seven Naxalites, including a woman, from near a river in Chutwai village under Tarem police station area. The arrested Naxalites also included Tamo Bhima and Uika Mangari alias Jyoti, who had a reward of Rs 3 lakh on their heads. “Tamo Bhima, woman cadre Uika Mangari alias Jyoti and five others were arrested when the Special Task Force, 21-Cobra Battalion, 153 Battalion of CRPF and local police were out on an anti-Naxal operation.”
Three lakh reward on two naxalites
Bhima was a member of Platoon No. 9 of the banned Maoist organisation and had a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head. Jyoti had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head. She was the president of the Revolutionary Women Adivasi Sanghatana (KAMS) under the Kondapalli RPC (Revolutionary Party Committee).

All seven Naxalites were involved in the attack on a security camp at Chutvai and several other incidents of the long-running Maoist violence in Bijapur district.
