India has once again raised serious questions on the current system of the United Nations Security Council. India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj has raised questions as to why the UN Security Council failed to stop the Russia-Ukraine war. India has demanded changes in the old system of the United Nations Security Council. A planning meeting of the United Nations General Assembly was held, in which Ruchira Kamboj asked this question.
Ruchira Kamboj said that since there is a war going on between Russia and Ukraine for two years, as member countries of the United Nations we should stop for a moment and ask you if there is any solution to this war in the near future . And if a solution cannot be found then why the UN system, especially the Security Council? Considering that it was created for peace and security at the international level, it has proved to be completely ineffective in defuse existing disputes? Ruchira Kamboj called for changes in the old structure of the United Nations Security Council and said that unless changes are made in it, the credibility of the Security Council will remain under question.
Reconciliation is possible only at the level of diplomacy
Ruchira Kamboj reiterated the statement of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which PM Modi had told Russian President Vladimir Putin that this is not the era of war. Kamboj said that India is concerned about the situation in Ukraine. We are constantly emphasizing that there should be no compromise in exchange for human life. Violence is not in anyone's interest. Kamboj said that peace is possible only diplomatically and for this there should be talks between all the parties. We should avoid taking such steps that close the doors of dialogue and reconciliation.
