A bridge worth Rs 3 crores destroyed! 5th incident in 9 days

A bridge collapsed in Janjarpur in Madhubani district of Bihar on Friday. This is the 5th incident of bridge collapse in the last 11 days. A part of the long girder between the 77 meter long pillars collapsed on Friday. Not only this, to hide the negligence, the administration covered the broken part with plastic so that people could not know about this incident.

Let us tell you that this bridge is being constructed by the Rural Development Department of the Government of Bihar. This is being done under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. The estimated cost of this bridge is Rs 3 crore. The girder of the bridge, which was laid on June 26, collapsed on Friday. In this case, contractor Amarnath Jha said that this has happened due to the rising water level in the river. He said that the bridge will be rebuilt after the water level of the river decreases.

After this, on June 22, a 45-year-old bridge built on the Gandak river in Siwan collapsed. On June 23, a bridge built at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore in East Champaran also collapsed. A bridge built on a small tributary river connecting the Kanakai and Mahananda rivers in Kishanganj district also collapsed on June 27. In such a situation, this is the fifth incident of bridge collapse on the Bhutahi river in Madhubani district.
