
Kolkata, June 04 (HS). The results of the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal have started coming. According to the data released by the Election Commission, out of the 29 seats in the state where the Trinamool Congress was leading, it has won three. Out of these, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has won the Diamond Harbor seat in South 24 Parganas by a record margin of votes. He has defeated his nearest BJP candidate Abhijit Das by a huge margin of 7 lakh 10 thousand 930 votes. He has got 10 lakh 48 thousand 230 votes.
Similarly, actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has also won the Asansol Lok Sabha seat on a Trinamool Congress ticket. He defeated his nearest BJP candidate SS Ahluwalia by a margin of 59 thousand 564 votes. Sinha got six lakh five thousand 645 votes.
Veteran Bengal BJP leader and former state president Dilip Ghosh has also lost the election this time. He was nominated by the party from Durgapur Burdwan Lok Sabha seat, where Trinamool Congress candidate Kirti Azad defeated him by a margin of 1 lakh 37 thousand 981 votes. Kirti Azad got 7 lakh 20 thousand 667 votes.
