Jammu, June 3 (HS). The Indian Army organised 'Lecture on Employment for Resident Population' at Thanamandi with the aim to enhance self-employment skills and provide better employment opportunities in the remote area. The programme focused on educating the youth, women and residents about various educational and scholarship schemes offered by the central and state governments to tackle unemployment.
An officer of the Indian Army addressed the gathering, elaborating on the government's initiatives to reduce unemployment. The key programmes included skill development initiatives, job fairs and entrepreneurship opportunities under schemes such as Integrated Rural Development Programme, IRDP, Drought Prone Area Programme, DPAP, Nehru Rozgar Yojana, NRY and Prime Minister's Integrated Urban Poverty Eradication Programme, PMIUPEP.
The lecture underlined the Indian Army's commitment to community development and support in improving employment prospects for the residents of Thanmady.
