Ranchi, June 03 (HS). DGP Ajay Kumar Singh held a review meeting on crime and law and order at the Police Headquarters on Monday. The graph of crime has been rising in the capital Ranchi for the past several days. Criminals are committing murder, robbery and snatching in broad daylight in the city. To stop the increasing crime, the state DGP held a meeting with the police officials and gave many necessary guidelines to the officials to curb crime. The DGP did a comparative crime review of the main crime heads formed in the state, in which topics like murder, robbery, loot, housebreaking, theft, kidnapping for ransom and rape were discussed and necessary instructions were given.
During the meeting, taking complete information about the action taken for crime control in Ranchi district, he directed to keep special vigil on new criminals, trace the drug network and reach the last criminal involved in it and take strict action against him, identify and take action against drug peddlers selling drugs around educational institutions, and also put a stop to land dispute cases.
During the meeting, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ranchi gave a presentation on sensitive crimes committed in Ranchi during the last three years, in which, apart from action taken against sensitive cases that happened in recent times, pending cases in various police stations, organized criminal gangs active in the capital Ranchi and the activities of its members were discussed and the DGP was informed about the concrete strategies made for taking action against big criminals who commit crimes like murder, robbery, dacoity, kidnapping and extortion.
The DGP directed the SSP, City SP, Rural SP and Traffic SP to control the current situation of crime and law and order. He also gave strict instructions to curb petty crimes by changing the time and place of vehicle checking in the entire district.
Expressing displeasure over the chain snatching and robbery incidents happening continuously in Ranchi district, DGP directed to put a complete stop to it. He also expressed displeasure over the recent murder incident in Chutia's Extreme Sports Bar and Grill. He gave strict instructions to verify all the bars falling in the police station area, check them with breath analyzer after 11 pm, check the criminal history of the bouncers working in all the bars and pay special attention to night patrolling by the police and said that strict action will be taken against the police officers and personnel who are negligent.
