
Karnataka sex scandal: Karnataka sex scandal and JDS MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing sexual harassment charges, has finally returned to Bengaluru from Germany after 35 days. As soon as he landed at the airport, he was arrested by the SIT within minutes.
He absconded on April 27
Prajwal fled from Bengaluru to Germany on April 27. Prajwal was brought to the CID office in a jeep by a team of women police personnel. After which he was kept in the CID office overnight. The SIT team also took two suitcases with them from the airport.
A medical examination will be conducted
Prajwal Revanna will be taken to a government hospital for medical tests today. He will also have to be produced before a magistrate court within 24 hours, where the police will seek his custody. According to reports, the SIT may seek 14 days of custody of Prajwal Revanna. However, courts usually grant custody for only seven to 10 days.
Anticipatory bail was sought but…
Before coming to India, Prajwal had applied for anticipatory bail in the sessions court on May 29. Now that he has been arrested, this is now technically his bail plea. A hearing in this regard will be held on Friday.
The video was released recently
So far, three cases of sexual harassment have been registered against Prajwal. Prajwal, MP from Hassan seat, had released a video message this week in which he promised to appear before the SIT on May 31 and cooperate in the investigation. Prajwal Revanna fled the country in April after several videos of sexual abuse went viral in Karnataka. The second phase of voting in Hassan seat was held on April 26. On the request of the SIT, Interpol had issued a 'Blue Corner' notice against Revanna.
