Reaching Karnataka today | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

New Delhi/Mumbai: There is good news for the whole of India including Mumbai. The news is that the Meteorological Department has officially announced that today i.e. on 30 May 2024, the southwest monsoon has reached the Kerala Sea two days earlier. At the same time, the rainy season has arrived in eastern India two days earlier today on 30 May.

Thus, monsoon has arrived simultaneously in both South India and East India regions. Thus, Kerala in South India is considered as the gateway for the arrival of the southwest monsoon.

The weather department has also given strong indications that all the natural factors are favourable for the arrival of southwest monsoon over southern Kerala and eastern India today and Meghraja is likely to cross from Kerala to Karnataka tomorrow, May 31.

Dr. Jena Mani, Director of Meteorological Department (Delhi-Headquarters) has given special information to Gujarat News and said that today the southwest monsoon has arrived with heavy rains and not normal. In the past years, the rainy season has arrived with moderate rains, while currently, for the last three days, heavy rains are occurring in Andaman, Nicobar, Sikkim, etc. areas including Kerala.

Also, the 2024 rainy season has arrived simultaneously in both South India and East India. Such a favorable natural sequence has occurred after ten (10) years. Simply put, this year's monsoon has started simultaneously on the sea and land. That is, this year the natural factors are very favorable and the intensity of these factors is also high.

Natural factors like Mediterranean Sea, rainfall of more than 2.5 mm for two consecutive days at more than 60 per cent of the 14 weather stations in South India, humid south-westerly winds, its direction, wind speed at a distance of three kilometres in the sky, long outgoing path, large accumulation of rain clouds and height of clouds including radiation are becoming highly favourable for the arrival of southwest monsoon.

The key factor El Nino (warm currents in the Pacific Ocean are called El Nino, while cold winds are called La Nina) will weaken during June 2024. Along with this, the favourable effect of the La Nina factor will also start showing due to the Indian Ocean Dipole (IO).

Now if all these natural factors remain favourable with the same intensity then there is a possibility that the monsoon will also advance towards Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, Gujarat.

However, Dr. Jena Mani has also strongly clarified that as all these natural factors progress, their suitability and intensity should also remain. Only then can the monsoon journey move forward, otherwise not.

In its long-term forecast last April, the Meteorological Department had indicated that India is likely to receive 106 percent of the average rainfall during the four-month (June to September) rainy season of 2024. That is, this year the country is likely to receive rain like raw gold. However, there is a possibility of less rain in North-West (North-West), East, North-East India.

Sunil Kamble, Deputy Director General of Meteorological Department (Mumbai Center) has informed Gujarat News that the pattern of every monsoon is different. It is never the same again. That is, the mood and form of the arrival of rain is different every year. Since the natural factors have become very favorable for the arrival of the rainy season of 2024, Megharaja has arrived two days earlier. The special thing is that now if these factors remain favorable continuously and with full intensity, then their journey to other states of India will also become easy.
