Bhopal, May 29 (HS). Deputy Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India Ajay Bhadu on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements by discussing with all the officials of Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing regarding the preparations for the counting of votes of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Chief Electoral Officer of the state Anupam Rajan joined this VC from NIC Indore and gave information about the preparations and arrangements made for counting of votes in all the Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies of the state. Returning officers and collectors and district election officers of all 29 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies of the state participated virtually in the VC.

In the VC, Deputy Election Commissioner Bhadu said that all preparations and necessary arrangements related to the counting work should be completed soon and the counting work should be completed without any hindrance. All necessary resources and arrangements should be available at the counting place. All counting personnel should be trained by 31 May. Only authorized persons should be allowed entry into the counting place. He discussed with all the Returning Officers and Collector and District Election Officers and Police Officers and took feedback on the preparations made so far for counting and instructed them to conduct smooth counting.

State Chief Election Officer Rajan gave detailed information to the Deputy Election Commissioner about the preparations being made for the counting of votes in all the districts on Tuesday, June 4. He informed that all the preparations for counting have been completed by all the Returning Officers and District Election Officers by establishing better coordination with the police administration. The first phase of counting randomization has also been completed. The final training of counting personnel in all the districts will be completed by May 31.

He informed that all the guidelines and protocols of the Election Commission of India are being strictly followed in connection with the counting of votes. There will be a three-tier security system at all counting centres. For smooth and uninterrupted counting of votes, arrangements have been made for sufficient tables, counting personnel, micro observers and other necessary resources. Arrangements are being made to ensure that the counting results are out soon. He informed that on June 4, the counting of postal ballots will be done by the returning officers in a separate room at the counting centre itself.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kaul, Inspector General of Police and State Police Nodal Officer Anshuman Singh, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Basant Kurre and Tarun Rathi and other officers were also present in the VC.
