MSC Anna ship in Mundra: Gujarat's Mudra Port has welcomed the largest container ship ever to an Indian port. This is a record. Adani Port said, MSC Anna arrived at the port on May 26. The length of the ship is 399.98 meters, which is equal to the length of four football fields. It is one of the largest container ships with a capacity to carry 19,200 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units).

With this, Mundra Port, the flagship company of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), has created another record. The company said in a statement, “The arrival of MSC Anna in Mundra not only demonstrates the port's ability to handle large ships, but also its important role in enhancing India's maritime trade capabilities.”

The arrival draft of MSC Anna is 16.3 metres, which can only be accommodated at Adani Ports, Mundra, as no other port in India is capable of accommodating the deep-draft vessel.

Earlier, in July 2023 Adani Ports Mundra created a record by berthing one of the world's longest container ships, MV MSC Hamburg with an overall length of 399 metres and a capacity of 16,652TEU.
