Dharamshala, 21 May (Hindustan Reporter). Workers are the backbone of the Congress Party and there is no higher position than that of a worker. Congress workers have stood with the party in every situation. It was due to the hard work of the workers that a people-friendly government of the Congress Party was formed in the state. This was said by Dharamshala by-election in-charge and Tourism Corporation Chairman Cabinet Rank Raghuveer Singh Bali, who arrived as the chief guest at the Congress workers conference organized in Dharamshala on Tuesday. Congress organized a workers conference on Tuesday in view of the Dharamshala by-election. This event took place in a private hotel under Dharamshala.
Congress candidate from Dharamshala assembly constituency Devendra Singh Jaggi and senior Congress leaders of Kangra district were also present in the workers conference. Officials and workers of various cells including Block Congress, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, Seva Dal, Booth Executive, Panchayat representatives participated in the workers conference. Raghuveer Singh Bali while infusing enthusiasm among the workers said that the workers are the pride of the Congress Party. He said that whoever was given ticket by the party high command, the worker stood with the leader with all his heart, mind and wealth. Whatever the circumstances, the workers never left the party. Bali said that the person whom the Congress workers and the enlightened people of Dharamshala had won and sent to the Assembly 15 months ago, has hurt the party and the public by betraying them. Now the time has come for Congress workers to go door to door and make the public aware of the truth about the person who insults public opinion.
Sudhir kept conspiring to weaken the party: Jaggi
In Dharamshala by-election, Congress candidate Devendra Singh Jaggi thanked the party high command for reposing confidence in him and said that the workers in Dharamshala are united and Congress's victory is certain. He said that the former MLA Dharamshala, who had betrayed the Congress and joined the BJP, always conspired to break and divide the Congress but the Congress workers never left the party. The former MLA made efforts to harm the party but the Congress workers stood by the party. Now the time has come for the Congress workers and the people of Dharamshala to settle the account of their insult. On this occasion, various officials including former Kangra Assembly MLA Surendra Kaku, Mayor Neenu Sharma and Block Congress President Harbhajan Singh Bhajji energized the workers through their addresses. During this time, discussions were also held with the workers in view of the upcoming elections and their suggestions were also written down.
Jaggi continued election campaign after workers conference
After the end of the workers' conference, Congress candidate Devendra Singh Jaggi continued his election campaign. Giving impetus to the election campaign, he organized street meetings in Tangroti, Chamunda, Cantt and Khaniyara and urged people to vote in his favor. During this, Jaggi informed the people about the public welfare policies of the state government. Along with this, people were also made aware of the insult to public opinion done by the former MLA who joined BJP from Congress. During the said street meetings, about 65 people left BJP and joined Congress. People who joined the Congress said that they were disappointed with the party's anti-people policies and wrong ticket allotment in Dharamshala, hence they joined the Congress.
