Narayanpur, 16 May (HS). While disclosing the murder case of Congress leader Vikram Bais on Thursday, the police said that the accused had committed the murder due to mutual rivalry. Six accused involved in the Vikram Bais murder case have been arrested, while the main accused Manish Rathore is absconding.
Among the accused, Vishwajeet Nag, resident of Belghadiya police station, district Calcutta (P.B.), Sandeep Yadav, resident of Borsi police station, Padmanabhpur district, Durg, Rajeev Ranjan Yati alias Raju alias Bihari, resident of Mirganj, district Gopalganj Bihar, Samuel alias Rayanuntalam, resident of Kotwali police station, Sector 06, district Durg, Jaspreet Singh alias Potu, resident of Banglapara Narayanpur and Vivek Adhikari alias Sidam, resident of Narayanpur, have been arrested from different places by the police and the pistol, Gandasa, two-wheeler used in the murder incident and mobile phones of the accused have been seized. The police is searching for Manish Rathore, the main accused who conspired in the Vikram Bais murder case, and other absconding accused.
Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar revealed on Thursday that Congress leader Vikram Bais was shot dead by unknown people on the night of May 13. Cyber team and separate police teams were formed to nab the murder accused. On the basis of CCTV footage and cyber analysis, the name of Manish Rathore resident of Narayanpur came to light. Manish Rathore, Jaspreet Singh Siddhu, Vishwajeet Nag, Viplav and Vivek Adhikari had conspired to murder about one and a half months ago.
He told that Manish Rathore held a meeting with Vishwajeet Nag, Rajeev Ranjan Yeti alias Raju alias Bihari, Sandeep Yadav alias Sanju and Samuel alias Rayanuntalam at the Indian Coffee House in Bhilai to buy a pistol and plan the murder. The pistol for the murder was brought from Siwan district of Bihar. Before carrying out the incident, the accused had done recce of Vikram Bais for two days. On the day of the incident, after finding Vikram Bais alone, accused Sandeep Yadav and Vishwajeet Nag together killed him by attacking him with a Gandasa and shooting him with a pistol.
After committing the murder, the pistol was hidden in the warehouse of Manish Rathore. He said that during the interrogation of the accused, a case of threatening journalists in the district also came to light. In this, it has been found that a threatening letter was written by Manish Rathore and it was posted by Vishwajeet Nag. The same gang was also doing the work of terrorizing people in the district by sending threatening letters to the President of Kishore Arya Transport Association and sending threatening banners and letters in the name of Naxalites.
