Chandigarh: Mid-day meal and Asha workers of Punjab doing election duty in Lok Sabha elections-2024 will be given honorarium of Rs 200 per day.
Giving information in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C said that midday meal workers are to be put on duty to prepare food for the polling parties. Apart from this, keeping in mind the heat on the day of voting on June 1, ASHA workers will also be deployed at the polling stations so that if any polling employee or voter falls ill at the booth, they can be immediately helped.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that Asha workers will also be given an honorarium of Rs 200 per day on the lines of mid-day meal workers. He said that a letter has been issued to all the District Election Officers-cum-Deputy Commissioners of Punjab to provide mid-day meal and honorarium to Asha workers.
